In case you want to opt for more efficient treatment (after consulting your doctor for the right dosage and time), then Phototherapy is one of the best options for you since it allows the use of specific type of light rays that are emitted from specific units so as to be able to treat an individual’s skin conditions for Psoriasis, Vitiligo or other disorders. These particular types of light rays are called Ultraviolet (UV) light rays that are emitted in a specific wavelength so as to alter the abnormal skin cells so that they behave and replicate regenerate at a regular and normal pace. During the Phototherapy treatment, your skin is exposed to these UV light rays which are usually emitted from a Phototherapy unit. This form of therapy usually consists of topical, that is, creams and ointments, that may be applied directly onto the affected area on the skin so as to diminish the irritation and prevent further uneven skin cell development. This type of treatment is mostly suitable for those who suffer from mild to moderate form of Psoriasis. Important topical treatments may include:
• Salicylic acid which Helps in the slowing of dead skin cells and reduces scaling.

• Products with Vitamins D that help in the slowing down of irregular skin growth.
• Vitamin A derivatives to reduce irritation of the skin.
• Effective moisturisers and ointments which help in reducing the dryness and scaling off of the skin.

The M-Folia range of products contain a special and pure extract of the Mahonia Aquifolium, which is a flowering plant that comes from the Mahonia shrub. It is also known as Oregon grape. This herb has a history of use in treating inflammatory conditions, including psoriasis. Mahonia Aquifolium contains berberine, which may help to suppress some of the inflammation that psoriasis causes. The plant also has anti-proliferative effects, meaning it can slow down the growth of skin cells. This ability helps with psoriasis because the condition causes the skin cells to divide too rapidly, which leads to scaly skin and plaques. According to the National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health (NCCIH), Mahonia Aquifolium has one of the strongest evidence bases of all herbal remedies for treating psoriasis. Several systematic reviews, including two published in 2015 and 2017, agree that Mahonia Aquifolium can help to treat the symptoms of psoriasis.
Diet and Exercises
On the other hand, some may prefer for more traditional treatments, such as the Diet has proven to affect psoriasis symptoms too. According to the Mayo Foundation for Medical Education and Research (MFMER), individuals with psoriasis are strongly recommended to eat a diet rich in:
• Fruits
• Vegetables
• Whole grains
• Low-fat dairy products
• Lean meats and fish
This form of treatment normally consists of improving your lifestyle through diets, exercises and reducing your stress level which may contribute to find the perfect balance and regain control of your life. Is this really helpful? The answer is a definite YES!!! Eating correctly and working out is helpful for everyone's health. Especially when you’re living with psoriasis, making the right and healthy choices become even more imperative. In addition, though not being the cause, Stress may be a major contributor to trigger or worsen Psoriasis in an individual.
Diets and exercises help in improving your heart health and as well as help you in your weight loss. This is very important as it may reduce the risks of diabetes, high cholesterol levels and hypertension. Also, it may be easier said than done but take your time to relax and eliminate stress in your life and you will see the difference.
